The summer way through Mahdtal is closed in winter due to wildlife protection. Toreck is accessible over the winter (ski tour) way. This december day, there still wasn't enough snow to cover all the holes in the karst terrain - not recommendable conditions for a hike to Toreck! But we were lucky not to fall through and had a lovely day.
