Leaving the shade of upper Wildental and ascending Winterelfer.
A look back into Kleinwalsertal valley and the Gottesacker plateau behind.
Making our way towards Elferkopf. This group has kindly done the tracking until now. At this point, they are heading for the Elferrinne (a goal that will be abandoned due to the snow shortage).
A look back to upper Wildental
Markus making way. The snow and the tracking is quickly getting heavier under the radiant sun.
Not far left to the summit of Winterelfer. The sun-drenched slope feels like a sauna.
Happy Sandra on the summit of Winterelfer - wide enough for just one person.
Markus coming down from the little cross at Winterelfer, with Elferkopf main summit behind (a tour better saved for summer).
Descending from Winterelfer. A couple of dry loose snow avalanches had gone off prior to ur ascent; apart from that, the snow was very good.
Descent from Winterelfer.
Time to check the amount of snow. Descending Elferkopf went with only a scrath or two - but from this point, stones and shrub are a constant threat to the skis and we are not spared.
The last few years these shrubs must have been covered with snow!
