Toreck is a very scenic local ski tour. The tour starts at Mahdtalhaus and ascends steeply into the forest - a good amount of snow is needed for this south facing tour. Once up, you have a gorgeous view over the Gottesacker plateau and Ifen to the south west, Untere Gottesackerwände to the north east, Kleinwalsertal in the back and, in particular if you continue along the Obere Gottesacker ridge, Rohrmoostal to the north. In spring coditions the tour is better for enjoying the views than skiing, but there is an option to do a little round trip through Torkopfscharte and Windecksattel and go back through Mahdtal (and importantly, keep to the right along Toreck to get back!). It adds some flat distance, but usually the snow is better if temperatures are on the warmer side.
