Tonigenkogel ski tour, Gries, Ötztal 2014-02-15
Tonigenkogel 3011m is reached from Gries, Tirol through Sulztal. The tour is relatively short, but requires a passage through steep forest. The last 50 meters to the summit normally requires crampons and an ice axe, as opposed to what our guide book said. The tour goes from Gries through Sulztal to shortly before Sultztalalm. It turns right before a bridge and passes a small hunting lodge and continues in serpents through the forest up to a plateau. From there you can see almost all the way to Tonigenkogel.
