Vergaldatal
Beautiful tracks and shades in the snow
Ascending to Hinterberg. It's obviously a popular route despite its massive length.
Vergaldatal is really long... Around 11 km has to be traveled from Gargellen to Tübinger Hütte.
Arrived at Hinterberg
Kessispitze
Kessispitze. We went up the ridge and down on the right flank the following day. It looks and is steep.
Vergaldatal seen from Hinterberg
Descending towards Tübinger Hütte on sun heated steep firn.
Arrived at Tübinger Hütte where avalanche fields cover most steep mountain flanks. Hinterberg is on the right.
Looking up at the unattainable Westlicher Platten-Spitze
The traverse to Schweizerlücke is frozen hard by the night and cold wind and our skis barely grip at all. As getting back up would be questionable, we decide to turn back. Westlicher Kromer-spitze in the center of the picture.
Marshmallow snow
Tübinger Hütte
The ascent to Kessispitze is steep or very steep all the way up
Steep traverse to a saddle on the ridge leading to the summit.
Steep traverse
Starting up the ridge to Kessispitze
The ridge to Kessispitze is very steep
Hairy passage across to the summit cross of Kessispitze. Luckily there were stable footsteps before us.
Looking back from Kessispitze to where we came from and Vergaldatal on the right.
Tea with a view at Kessispitze
Looking south of Kessispitze
Endless powder snow in remote wilderness
