White River
White River near St George's is named after a river that used to flow here, which is now under the surface. Especially at the shore, chalk is continuosly released into the sea, making the water milky and impossible to dive after rain or strong winds. We had good but not great conditions, but getting in and out proved very difficult with the waves constantly splashing on the exposed shore. The dive follows the channel seawards. One can of course choose how far to go, with more depth possible further out, but a typical depth is around 12 m. Visibility gets better further out. We didn't find much, a swim throughs or two and small overhangs along the flow of the river. We did see a large shool of fish and a blueish loner, unfortunately unidentified.
